Idol Boot-off; week 4

There was no fanfare, no ridiculous dramatic pauses. After listening to Fantasia sing what I assume to be her new single (and I'll get back to that in a minute), they simply called the first 3 people sitting on the sofa down as our bottom 3. You could see the ripple of shock though the audience and contestants. I don't know if they were doing this to "shake things up" or because they ran out of time.

Anyhow, the bottom 3 - in order of appearance- was Niko, Vonzelle and Scott our Porky Pig looking thug - who beat up his ex-girlfriend years ago, but confessed this to Idol judges at the start so it didn't disqualify him.

They let Vonzelle sit down, and to my eyes, she never looked worried standing up there. Good front?

Of course we had the mildly annoying wait through commercial for the results. The pause itself isn't annoying, its pretty much Seacrest who acts like this is a new joke each time he does it that pains me.

Return from commercial and Scott (dramatic pause here) was safe.

This choice surprised me. I considered Niko the male sleeper. He was consistenly good and improved each week. Why wasn't Anthony booted?? If he's hanging on because of his "miracle" then that's just lame and America is full of a bunch of saps. But that's the beauty of the USA - we're a mix of all kinds. Still - why, again, is Anthony still on? Argh. Grrrr.

I wonder if this week was one of those cases where people concentrated their votes on trying to save someone and assumed the good singers would sail through. People- stop voting for Anthony!!!

Next year they oughta let us vote for who to kick off!!!! I'd vote.

A little side commentary I'd like to add:
I think Bo's humble interview made him seem nicer. Anthony's did nothing to help himself in my eyes.

Now, back to BoBo. How distracting was all that bouncing? I thought they got professional coaches once they won! Between her bouncing like a bobble-head toy on speed and her excessive shoulder shrugs, I could nearly not pay attention to her loud, wild screaming. This was our Third American Idol. Proves my point that year 4 is the best group so far.

I hope they pick a good genre next week. It was a bit ho hum yesterday.

Last night's bottom 3: Nikko, Vonzelle & Scott, was a shocker! Scott would have been my vote to kick off between the three but that's a moot point. And you're right "The Vonz" never looked worried.

Truthfully, Bo deserved to be in the bottom 3 this week. Now, I am not a huge Bo supporter but I do respect the fact that he acknowledged his weak performance and appeared almost apologetic for not being in the bottom 3.

And although Anthony acknowledged his weak performance too he is totally banking on his fans to carry him through the competition. That's not cool.

In my opinion, Fantasia looked and sounded great! I love her energy and thought her performance was inspiring to the remaining idols!

The only person that shocked me for the bottom 3 was Nikko. He's been consistantly good. I don't think Scott is all that wonderful and I've already made my feelings known about Miss Vonzelle.

And I am with ya - WHAT the freak is going on with people voting for Anthony - he is horrible! And I can't believe that he wasn't in the bottom 3 - he is CONSISTANTLY BAD.

Which brings me to why I disagree with Chenita thinking that Bo deserved to be in the bottom 3. I don't think that people should be judging week to week. Nobody is perfect and everyone will have a bad night now and again - and really - Show Tunes - I see sooooooo many show tunes in the Top 40 it will totally break someone's career if they can't sing in a musical :::::MAJOR SARCASM::::::

For me Bo has been consistantly good - and even though I wasn't that thrilled with his song choice I still enjoyed his performance.

And there is NO WAY - that Anthony was better than him OR Nikko! Man - I'd so be voting him off too - if they'd let us vote off instead of on…

Sorry I havn't written. Ive been so busy at work...
Last nights idol was difinitely shocking. I was doing laudry and putting clothes in the dryer when I heard that Nikko and Vonzell were picked. I thought they were trying to change up the format and pretend they were being eliminated. Not until Ryan said Scott's name and announced he also was in the bottom 3 - my jaw dropped to the floor. Nikki & Vonzell in the bottom 3. How could this be? I thought for sure that Scott, Anthony and Anwar were going home.

Personally, Anthony must have a freaking strong Russian support in Bklyn cuz I don't understand why he has never made it to the bottom 3.

I was sooooo sad to see Nikko leave cuz honestly he is/was the best male singer in the competition.

Linda's comment on Bobo (Fantasia)was hilarious. OMG - almost peed in my pants. I think Fantasia started off a bit blah and then as she got into her "winning idol song" I got really into it.

You're right! I hadn't focused on that yet, but I bet part of Anthony's cockiness IS the fact that he has never made a bottom 3. But why-oh why hasn't he?

And a bigger question - since we started this whole thing just for Flavia, why hasn't she commented? Too busy with office shower parties, birthday luncheons and free lunches with the reps?? ;)
