Idol Chatter - Boot-off show
They opened the boot-off show with some behind-the-scenes. As I've mentioned earlier, I missed those. They give you a little insight into the relationships, personality and non-stage prescence of the singers.
What I have NOT enjoyed this year was the group songs. In the past years, I loved this segment but this year, I don't know if its the songs or what, but I don't love them so much.
The one thing that's annoying about AI is the stupid Ryan Seacrest commercials. He was this obscure DJ 4 years ago. I wonder what Brian Dunklman's thinking now? He went back to obscurity.
They finally got to the boot-off and pulled Scott right away and made him choose his favorite song of the season and sing it. He chose Against All Odds and sang it ok. I won't miss him. But I want Anthony in the bottom.
The next to go to the bottom 3 is Bo Bice. His interview was a bit cocky. Its like nothing was on the line if he got kicked off. Now, if I were a voter, I would be like - he doesn't care if he wins, so why should I waste my calls on him? I think that was a bad move. Too cocky. I'd like to see him stay on and see what more he can do, but he needs to find his humility during the interviews. He sang that obscure Black Crowes song. Didn't love it.
So... Simon answered the big question. When he said "Astonishing" about Constantine, he said that everything about the performance was astonishing. He loved it. Constantine was safe. The pan to Vonzelle, Anthony, and Nadia on the couch. He asks all three what they would sing if they got to the bottom three. The odd thing is, she already had the mic in her hand and started to stand before Ryan told her that she was in the bottom three. Hmmmmmm. Mistake? Poor planning? hmmmm.
She sang the Dusty Springfield song You Don't Have To Say You Love Me. It was great. The song suited her. It would be sad to see her go because I think she's got more to show us. I hope so anyway.
Of the 3, I'd want Porky to go. Sorry Juanita, but I'd like to see where the other two take us. And while I'm at it, did you people chant or not? I don't see Anthony on the bottom 3, I think you guys didn't chant. Chant, dammit!, Chant!
Back from commercial and who's safe? WOW- SCOTT is the one that's safe and sitting back down! wow. I'm so surprised.
They really drag out the final boot tonight. There seemed to be much more tension.
...and Bo's safe. Whew! That means Nadia's out. I see two others that would be better there, but heck, I don't vote. Maybe I should. I still wish they'd do it so that we had a number to call to vote someone OFF.
Scott dodged a bullet.

Well- I didnt watch the boot off tonight - just got home. I'm not surprised by Nadia getting booted off- yet I wish she had been on a little longer.
Of the bottom 3 i would have prefered Scott being voted off.
And I AM chanting Anthony Anthony Anthony!!!!!!!

Last nights idol was very surprising indeed. If you listened to Ryan Seacrest in the beginning of the show he gave us a hint cuz he mentioned that the results were going to be SHOCKING. I knew from that comment that one of the favorites were going to be in the bottom 3. (Apparently he was shocked to see Bo Bice in the bottom 3) . Yes, I agree with you Lin that his comments were a bit arrogant and I for one think Bo has overstayed his welcome. Go HOME BO.
I think Scotts performance was GREAT. I think he sung it better the first time, but he sang with such emotion last night as if it were his last time on stage. BRAVO Scott. I was sooooooo excited to hear he was safe. I'm still ROOTING for you Porky. I don't think he should win the competition, but I don't think he should go just yet either.
As I predicted, Nadia got the boot last night. Her comment prior to being booted summed it all up. "When I started the competition I was known for being different and picking songs that were offbeat, but maybe that isn't working for me anymore" DUH!! I could have told her that a long time ago. Sorry to see her go before Anthony, but it was inevitable.
Now the question of the day is why Anthony is escaping the bottom 3 nignt after night. Does he have the whole Russian population voting for him? Jeez... We're all chanting Anthony, Anthony, Anthony, but maybe that is only propelling him further to the top. Lin, you have to think of another way to get him off. With ALL of your many talents maybe you can make a voodoo doll of Anthony out of pasta. Then you, my sister and Flavia can take turns poking it during lunch - Just don't let Rob see it he may eat it. LOL
OMG I laughed to hard at your comments!!! Juanita, it really pointed out how much we miss you! Voodoo doll of pasta! That was hysterical! (and as I type, I can't help but think, gee, I sound like Flavia!)

I would have liked to see Nadia stay in it a little longer as well, I am sorry but PORKY is sore on the eyes HE HAS TO GET THE STEPPIN'yes he has a nice voice but he's no Idol..by any sense of the word, I mean if you close your eyes and listen to him you would never imagine it to be coming out of someone that looks as Oink! Oink! as he does te,he!

OMG! Here I am eating my breakfast and reading my sis' comments. I had to stop eating my cereal in fear that I would spit milk out of my mouth!
I totally agree that Bo should learn humility and not be so arrogant. But here is a guy, a "true hard-core rocker" competing in as you know what my roommates like to refer as "an sdult version of the Mickey Mouse Club". I think, he just doesn't want to appear as if he is a sell out for doing AI.
Oh and BTW, judging from the pep talk Randy & Paula were doing for the bottom 3 it was obvious Bo wasn't going anywhere.
I've been meaning to ask this but has anyone noticed how white Randy's teeth are? SCAAAARRRRRY!
And Lin, to answer your question about the mic already in Nadia's hand, most of the idols had mics in their hands to answer Ryan's questions.
So, now that Nadia is gone who do you think should be next?
Hmmmm... if Lin or Mere would STEP UP and make the voodoo pasta doll, maybe it will finally be Anthony.
PASTA is for eating. One would think the two of you would get THAT!
I agree - if anyone would know that about pasta it would be you girls.
And actually - Chenita should make the Pasta Voodoo doll because it would probably be the only thing she would know how to make with pasta! LOLOL (Juanita - i don't know your cooking skills so I left yoiu out of that one- hee hee)
And I had to go look up Flavia's freak out about ganews… From the Kids show "The Great Space Coaster" from 1981-1986 - that's why we don't know Linda… LOL
