The guys
Well, it appears that Juanita let us all down with the women. I still haven't watched it so I have nothing to say, but I'll pop backward and comment another day.
Anyway, the night started with Gedeon. OMG, how annoying is his speech pattern? How do the judges (well, at least Simon) not comment on that? He sang When a Man Loves a Woman. I wasn't impressed. Paula, however says that he's what this competition needs. uh... no he's not. Please go home.
Chris sang something called Broken (tho Mere will probably correct me with the real name of the song lol). I don't know it and I'm not a huge fan of the song, but his voice was great. What else do I say? I love him.
Kevin- oh my, Kevin as a rapper? I don't think so. No thanks. Anyhow, he sang the opposite, Starry Starry Night. His voice was really shaky - and I could look straight up his flared nostrils at the end of the song .. ewwwww. I agree with Simon, he's like a child singing.
Bucky was next with some country song I don't know. I predict that Juanita hated it. lol, I like the quality of his voice - its a bit raspy and, again this week, surprised me. He has a cool, casual manner and doesn't 'over act' up there like some of the other contestants.
Wilma Carr (lol - I slay me with my own joke LOL) -Before I even hear him sing, I am ready to see him go. And when he sings, I'm not disappointed. Yet, Paula returned to fantasyland and said she 'loved' him. She's on drugs.
Taylor sings Micheal McDonald's Takin it to the Street. The song starts with "you don't know me but I'm your brother..." and he looks just like Micheal McDonalds younger brother to me. LOL. Again - like his singing better if I don't watch him. Simon cracked me up when he said that Taylor single-handedly killed the video music industry.
Elliot sang Heaven. I liked his take on the song. I thought he was good.
and they ended the night with Ace singing a Micheal Jackson song. oh my. And then he sings. Wow, he showed sooo much range. I did not expect to like him the best of the night, but I really did. If they got a prize for every week, I'd say he won this week for me.

Ok, so I will never live down that I suck and I didn't blog for Lin. Sorry - Yesterday turned out to be an extremely busy day at work- Go figure. I am making the effort to blog early so not to get the wrath of Linda.
Ok, very briefly about the girls: Mandisa rocked and was by far the best performance. Oh and Kelly is really starting to get on my nerves - I think she is playing up the "cute" southern girl persona that the judges seem to adore. My bottom 2 are Kinnick and Ayla.
Ok, now for the boys
Geodeon - hate him, but he did a pretty good job. Great song
Chris - Loved him. Song choice was boring for him, but the boy still sang the hell our of it. I just wished Simon gave him the credit he deserves. He never once praised him on how great he sang the song as opposed to bashing him on his song choice.
Kevin - LOL - I totally agree about his flared nostrils. I think he did an ok job, but he's no American Idol. Hope he goes tonight.
Bucky - Didn't hear or see him sing. Ryan decided that jumping in bed was more amusing than sleep. Lin - Thank your lucky stars you have TIVO - You'll need it.
Will - Another lame song from Will. I don't know what Paula is smokin'.
Taylor - started a bit boring, but he brought it home. I loved his performance - It was amusing and entertaining.
Elliot- "Heaven" I love this song but I couldn't get into his version. the judges seemed to love him though.
Ace - I thought he did a horrible job. But according to Lin comments and the judges you all seemed to love it. But again I was busy trying to get Ryan to sleep and couldn't hear the song.
Kicked out: Kevin and Will
Straight to the point... The next 2 guys that have to go will HAVE to be Will(ma) and Kevin. Sorry, "I'm not trying to be rude" but even though Kevin looks like chicken little his lisp is starting to wear on my nerves. Maybe he can go and join William Hung and take some speach classes while he's at it. I still feel the strongest 2 male contestants are #1-Chris and #2-Elliot (even though his song choice was weak last night)
TIVO - gotta love it. Chenita would love it, but, oh, that would require CABLE!
Chenita does have cable hook up. But she only has the basic cable package. So in reality she can get TIVO.
so, Whenever Meredith reads this, she will probably be the only one who knows one of these songs, but...
I'd like to hear the following people sing:
Chris: Nickelback's Someday
Bucky: Chris Gaines' That's the Way I remember it
Taylor: Ray Charles' version of America The Beautiful
...oh yeah, and
Ace: Maroon 5's Shiver
Who's anonymous?? Yeah, Yeah!! I know if you didn't want to remain Anonymous you would have stated your name, sign and where you are residing LOL :)
