American Idol - singing week 6
Question: of the past 4 seasons, if you HAD to sleep with someone on the top 10, who would it be?
PS: last week, they kicked off Anwar. By the time I watched the video, it was nearly this week, so I bypassed it.
This week's theme past 5 years
They chose to leave the audience in the dark on what they were singing, which makes it hard on me since I hardly know names of songs anyway.
Carrie came out looking adorable in her C&W outfit and straightened hair (I'm thinking extensions). She sang some obscure Martina McBride song and since I don't know it, I can't comment except to say that her voice was nice. The background music was a little loud all night - except when Anthony sang.
Vonzelle is also a stunning beauty. She belted out some Christina Aguilera song. She really looked like she was having a blast. Good for her. I don't remember anything of her singing so I will take the concensus of the coffe klatch this morning who all said she was all over the place (except Chenita who I think liked it).
Then Bo stole the night with Gavin McGraw's I Don't Wanna Be. Who sang that? I dunno, but he looked cute and actually washed his hair. They did the 'background into our lives' videos this week and Bo's mother is a knockout. She looks like she could be his girlfriend. His girlfriend, on the otherhand looks like a young Bo Groupie- oh yeah, she is! Lol
Musically, he was the best of the night. His choice of song suited him perfectly and he was a great performer. Judges all agreed.
I think Anthony followed him. His video showed a sweet, wholesome kid. Perhaps that's where his votes are all coming from. The wholesome families across America. That, and Heather Locklear's family of 9 children. Yikes. (I was secretly hoping that her tube top would pop off from her wild cheering for the Ruskie). Anthony sang a Celine Dion song. I think its cool that a guy did that. I thought he was all over the place and frankly hasn't vocally matured much. Bottom three.
Next, Constantine- he comes from the Adams Family. His brother looks like a close cousin to Lurch. There's someone in the audience that looks like a blonde Morticia and his mother looks a bit like a young Grandmama- or better groomed. He butchured the Nickleback song This is How You Remind Me. Love the song. Ouch. And all that wild kicking made him look like he was on the drugs that Paula forgot to take last night. Bottom 3
And speaking of... What was up with her? She was like sooooo subdued. Not that I enjoy her comments worth a hoot.
Scott- what can I say about Scott? Looks alone- he shouldn't have even gotten nearly this far. But week after week he prevails. For me, Scott is the most inconsistent performer. The judges hated him last night, but I thought he did well. The song suited him and I thought he sang it well. His choice of outfits was perfect for him. At least he isn't playing up the fat guy thing, wearing an oversized T-shirt every week. I disagree with the judges, I liked him. But still he rounds out the bottom 3 for me.
I had intentions of including bits of the IM between Meredith and I during the show but that's back on my laptop and I'm sitting here on a train. During the show, Mere looked up a blog site that posts the mp3s IMMEDIATELY after its performed. And I thought WE were looney. (To last week's anonymous blogger - yeah, we're a bunch of gooney losers, but we love that about ourselves! Muuaaaaahhhh) speaking of gooney I have to give Mere up- lol- she downloaded all of Bo's songs this season. Lol

I have to first get this off my chest.... Linda, Please place your commentary before 8 am. I admit that I am the biggest LOSER come Tuesday and Wednesday morning. I go straight to this blog and when it is not updated I don't know how to start my day... Ok, now I can continue with my comments...LOL
First of all, Bo rendition of Gavin's song was horrible.... It was totally off key the entire song. All throughout his performance he came off looking like a bad impersonation of Kevin Federline (Britney aka White Trash" Spears Skanky husband)-Ewwww
Carrie, definitely showed personality and I thought she was going to nail this song being it was a country song, but she disappointed me. Her song selection sucked and her performance was just ok.
Anthony by far impressed me the most. He did a fabulous job with Celine Dion's "Surrender". He choose the most challenging song to sing and I think he pulled it off.
Vonzell did awesome, but hearing Z100 and chenita's comments I guess she wasn't as great as I thought.
Constantine, this is one that I finally agree with you Linda. He was annoying with all that kicking and I agree he butched the Nickleback song
Scott - poor, poor Scott. He did horrible. I think singing Luther was not the greatest song choice. But, I don't know why but I hope he makes it another week. He is such the underdog and I feel so sorry for him. He looks like he would be totally crushed if he were to go home.
My bottom 3 for tonight are Connstantine, Carrie and Scott (I'm hoping Bo gets thrown in there somehow)
Carrie sang great, looked like she was having fun and very relaxed. After all she sang a country song -a definite advantage. I don't think it was her best maybe because I didn't know the song so it was hard to enjoy her performance.
As for Bo, I loved the song by Gavin McGraw so I was pretty excited to see if Bo would pull it off -- he didn't! Lin, please tell me you're kidding when you say he was the best last night, right? Like Vonzelle, he was all over the place and I didn't particularly care for his performance. And I think the judges are soooooo scared of losing him in the competition that they praised him when they should have told him the truth.
The Vonz (for the record) was all over the place. She hit a few high notes but the rest of the song was flat. So I agree with Simon. Paula and Randy better clean out their ears.
And, I know you don't want to hear Lin but the best performance of the night was indeed --- Anthony. And although I've never heard of the Celine Dion song, he sang it very well and connected with the audience.
Constantine proved last night once and for all that he does not belong in this competition. He is the male version of Britney Spears... pure visual entertainment! Oh, didn't he look insulted when Ryan Seacrest said his moves reminded him of Clay's? (ha ha) Definitely belongs in the bottom 3 tonight.
Scott I agree looked great! I too was also admiring his outfit. As far as his performance -- his worst so far. There was no Scotty energy into his performance. It was like he gave up in the middle of his song. Bottom 3 and more likely the one to go home tonight.
So, my bottom 3 is Constatine, Scott and a tie between Bo/Carrie/Vonz.
Juanita, how funny we both made reference to Britney Spears! LOL

First of all... I can't work on that schedule. My hours are 9-ish to 5-ish. LOL Chenita's are even worse than mine!
I DID like Bo. I wasn't impressed with Anthony at all, and it has nothing to do with the fact that I don't like him. He's not idol material. But the Locklear family like him and that's all that matters. LOL
Juanita... I forgot! yes, both Scott and Constantine looked sad with the negative comments. That may sway votes. My heart says Porky's gone.
If they have twin idols, would you guys enter? ;)

I love Bo. And yes - I thought his performance was FABulous last night. And I absolutely think he should win. Period.

Constantine MUTILATED that song - and the kicking thing drove me nutz too.
I don't like Scott or Anthony. Vonzelle is ok and I like Carrie.
I would like to see everyone voted off in this order: Anthony, Scott, Constantine, Vonzelle, Carrie, with Bo winning it.
Quick explanations - the only reason Constantine made it to third position is that I really liked him on other nights - if you dont look at his face - whereas I never liked Scott or Anthony. Really in any order I think those guys should go first before the remaining girls and Bo. Thinking of this as a pop contest - Carrie or Vonzelle will more than likely be the winner. Although a very scary part of me thinks Anthony might just take it away for some inexplicable reason. Heather Locklears family probably - LOL
And I really hated that they didnt say the title of the songs or anything - cause frankly the only songs I knew were Bo & Constantines.
And yes - I downloaded all of Bo's songs. I also found a really funny site that is dedicated to getting Scott to win because he is the worst. And I wonder if that is what is keeping the man on the show.

Mere - You are my hero... Where the heck did you find that website "vote for the worst". That is hysterical. You may be right that there are a bunch of people who are voting for Scott to discredit American Idol judging system. It would be hysterical to see if he makes it to the end.
Going back to Linda's question of the day: If I had to choose I would probably say that Marine who was married with a newborn from last season. (he's the only one that comes to mind - I can't remember any one else)
Wonder Twin power Activated. (In reference to the wonder twins. Why did they think that turning into a bucket of water and turning into a an eagle was the coolest "power" to have. Can anyone else think of any other powers they had?
