Last night's idol was actually a pretty show. I enjoyed almost all the performers. Oh, And I loved that Barry Manilow gave them suggestions to make the song work better for them.
Ok, Here's my blog based on my scattered memory. I don't know the exact order, I'm just going to wing it.
Mandisa- started the show off with a bang. She is absolutely beautiful and has an amazing voice.
Bucky - It was definitely a good song for him. I liked the raspiness of his voice in the chorus.
Paris - I didn't get to see her performance (Ryan is up and wants me to read him yet another bedtime story) I did get to see when she was working with Barry - she sounded good. Was she? What were the judges comment?
Taylor - Loved his haircut. He totally looks like George Clooney now- LOL. As for his performance, I agree that it wasn't his best vocal, but the man is an amazing entertainer. He'll be around to the end - I hope:)
Lisa - Unfortunately for Lisa, I think she will be in the bottom 3 again tonight. I was sooooo rooting for her to do well and I started to cringe when she performed "Why do fools fall in love". She wasn't horrendous, but she wasn't FABULOUS either.
Katherine - Ummmm. Did anyone notice the loose dress she decided to wear. I'm not implying the rumors are true, but she seemed to pick outfits that make you wonder. Onto her performance, I think she has an amazing voice and she did great. I did not like her choice of song, but nonetheless she did fantastic.
Chris - I am a hugh fan of Chris. I agree, it wasn't his best vocal, but the man is soooo talented. He will definitely fly into the top 3.
Kelly - Just so you know, I think her song choice was a good one. She performed it very well too. - So here goes my Kelly bashing..... I was listening to Z100 this morning and like me they all can't stand her. Initially they liked her, but now they feel she is playing up the naive act. (Did anyone get the hint that they purposely shut her mike off so she wouldn't be able to speak) And did you see the annoyance on Paula's face when Kelly started jumping around like a buffon after she performed -it wasn't shown on TV (purposely edited - I think so) but you can tell Paula is getting annoyed with her act too. Ok, I'll stop here cuz I can go on and on with kelly's annoyance.
Kevin - I can't stand looking at him when he sings. All I see is Chicken Little and what's the deal with his nostrils. Why are they so huge and his lips are pencil thin. Ugh, Please Let him go tonight. BTW - The Long Island station had a party promoting a "Vote for Kevin" last night, so I have a feeling he's not going anywhere tonight.
Ace - Ace did a descent job. Can't remember the song, but I know he was going for a jazzy version. I think if he didn't have the falsetto at the end it was just a medicore performance.
My bottom 3 tonight are Lisa, Bucky and hopefully Kevin, but it will probably be Ace.Did I get everybody?

Yes, Mere I did see skeevy Constantine in the audience. Ewwww
Gossip: Ryan Seacrest and Terri Hatcher is said to be dating. I thought Ryan was gay? And if you haven't heard already Simon's top 3 picks are Taylor, Chris and Kelly.

I loved the song choices last night..and I really like Barry Manilow he's so patient and kind and very talented lol on that note
I will begin to Critique:
Mandeesa: Excellent! Powerhouse she will be there till the end.
Bucky: It was a very good song choice for him but I think he screams more than he sings a song, not my Fav..
Paris: She totally fit the 50's genre her look, the way she moved and her vocals are truly professional..
Taylor: Yes, he does look like George Clooney with his new "do" now all they have to do is color or highlight his damn hair so he looks 29 and not 49..as for his performance, it wasn't his best vocal and his idiotic dance moves are starting to bug me..
Lisa: I was so excited when they showed her practicing w/Manilow - I love "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" the original version and I really think this could have been her best performance if they would have left the music like the original.. the version they arranged for her didnt' do her voice justice.. very disappointing and this may out her tonite..
Katherine: I don't know who dresses her but I've hated her last 3 outfits - her hair looked fabulous and she is still a beautiful girl and her voice is amazing... she will definitely be in the top 3
Chris: Love him.. the song was a great choice especially with the hype of the movie "Walk the Line" but it wasn't his best vocals.. he will definitely be in the top 3.
Kelly - Great song choice - she is soooo country she should be on Nashville's Idol.. do you see the way Simon looks at her like he wants to eat her...lol he LOVES her..so she will be there for the long haul.
Kevin - The way Barry arranged the song for him was perfect it was one key throughout the song and he did it well.. I still think he needs to go but he'll be in for awhile longer and Juanita I totally agree he has a line for lips so annoying with his little lisp... lol
Ace: I love that song.. and he totally nailed it.. Go Ace..and he looked extra HOT last night ha,ha

I know, I know - I have been a horrible blogger of late. And although, the results are in I wanted to give an abbreviated blog on their performances.
Mandisa – Loved her look – curly hair and makeup! WOW! Oh, and the performance was great too!
Bucky, Paris, Elliot, Taylor– okay performances
Lisa – Unfortunately, Barry Manilow did a horrible musical arrangement to her song and as a result she did horrible.
Elliot – Juanita, why do you always forget him? LOL I thought he did okay. Why did Simon say his performance was FANTASTIC?
Katherine – She is a beautiful girl with the voice to match but sometimes I see her and think her performance is dull, does anyone agree?
Chris - LOVE his rendition and yes it wasn’t the best vocals but DAMN can he rock it!
Kelly – She had on way too much makeup on her face. She looks best with a natural look and very little makeup. Best performance for her to date.
Kevin – I was so bothered by one hand in the pocket through the entire performance. Did Barry coach him to do that?
Ace – Definitely better performance than last week. I especially liked that he changed the musical arrangement to suit him.
As for the result show --- for the first time in Idol history America chose the right bottom 3 and even better gave chicken little a well deserved boot off the show.
Off Idol subject - Did anyone catch this new show called HEIST aired yesterday night. I just caught that the lead actor is Dougray Scott --- He's Prince Henry in EVER AFTER!!!!!!! LOVE HIM!!!
Yes - Kevin's hand in his pocket the whole time was buiggin the hell out of me too!!!!
