Final four - and Then There Were Three
I do have other things to say about last night's show, but nothing preceeds: ANTHONY's GONE! whoo hoo!
They did the group song last night, as they do with every boot-off show and it was fun to see the dynamics between Carrie and Anthony. What it really showed me was that Anthony is a good harmonizer and works well in a group. Carrie, not so much. She was louder but in a different key than the rest so she came off sounding flat and knocking off the rest of the group. Her solo was phenom but I didn't love her in the group setting.
They did the 'look where we were' thing, where they showed the initial audition tapes and they were all like, "ooh look at me then!" Then? It was a few months ago. LOL
Anyway. what more is there to say? Anthony's gone.
I have to run to our Annual Day of Forced Volunteering.... so this is as lenthy as it gets. Juanita... fill it in. :)

Hope you guys are having fun painting. In the meantime I will write my thoughts on last night show and you freaks better respond tomorrow.
Yes.... It finally happened!!!!!! Anthony's GONE - See Ya, don't want to be ya
I loved the flashbacks of the audition tape. I think Vonzell has definitely improved since her audition tape. Anthony sounded the same. In my opinion, Carrie was much better in her audition than any of her performances to date. I remember when I watched her audition I said to myself she was the one to beat (Like Simon), but her song choices and performances have been just mediocre. With that said, I still believe she has the best vocals in the competition. It was great to see Bo's audition tape, cuz they never showed it up until now. I don't think his audition was GREAT as they claimed. I think they liked his personality and liked that he was different (A Rocker).
What more can I say, Anthony is GONE - Yeahhhhhhhhhh. After weeks and weeks of chanting his demise it finally happened last night. Good Job everyone :)
BTW - Did anyone catch Anthony's screw-up when he started the song with the wrong verse? What a way to be remembered on your way out... LOL Poor, Poor Anthony
I thought that Anthony was really a gracious loser.
But once you're in the final four, you're pretty much guaranteed an audience of at least a million if you make a record (that was all devised in some crazy way by Shari) so he knows he's golden. He's definitely less cocky than at the start (even in his auditions he was all full of himself!)
Pat M. scared me a bit because she kept saying she wouldn't be surprised if Carrie went. I would have died if she went before Anthony. So that was my only slight nervousness. But overall, last nights show was no surprise -- unless you count that Anthony finally went.
I can't wait to see what the next 3 weeks holds in store for Bo and Carrie.
And.... did anyone hear what happened to Vonzelle? Mere? Fla? anyone looking this up???
PS- our NJ Day of Service was great. it was soooo easy. I hope no one catches on cuz they'll make us do something harder next year. I hope Peter keeps his trap shut!
Fla and I were painting our asses off yesterday, which by the way was soooooo much fun. It was especially amusing to see Fla covered in paint. We joked that it looked like she bathed in it. LOL
Anyway, I was shocked to see that Mere, the one person I thought would have the most to say about the boot off show didn't even comment yet. What's up with that!?!?!? LOL
So, I loved that they showed the audition tape flashback too because I never saw Carrie and Bo's auditions. I thought Vonzelle looked so much older in her audition tape. The most improved look is Bo hands down. And Anthony sang a Jon Secada song which explains why I always say he sounds like him. And Carrie sang great, as usual but what was so interesting was Randy's comments to her that day. He said that she has great vocals but need to work on her stage presence.
I must admit that I was a bit nervous when it came down to The Vonz and Anthony. And although I've always liked Anthony it was truly his time to go. Lin & Mere's chants finally worked - but he definitely made you work for it, huh? Now you two can breath a sigh of relief and finally say that "Anthony has left the building".
Oh, did anyone notice that when Anthony was sent packing (and yes, singing to the wrong verse) that the cameras were never on the judges?
